Tips and tricks (not cheats)

As you all find fun stuff that helps you through the game, post up what you've found



evading cops:
if you have two or three stars, and you see an alley, put a bit of distance between you and the cops by going around the block...then pull into the parking lot. Even though the lot isn't too deep, many times, the cops will not see you, as long as they don't watch you pull in


got 4 stars, drive on railroad tracks (cops won't follow), then hide in a tunnel

just watch out for trains

I was having trouble seeing the little white aiming dot on my screen. Changing the reticle from simple to complex helped me improved my aim considerably.

Even if you didn't order the Special or Collectors edition, you can get a free SMG by signing up for an account at Rockstar's social club website. It will be available for all 3 characters at Ammu-nation, and all of it's accessories are free too!

I've found that when dealing with multiple enemies, it's easier for me to take them out quickly by popping in & out of aiming rather than staying constantly aimed in.

yeah, the pop in and pop out is SUPER effective


that mission when you're at the warehouse( as Franklin) meeting and you're escaping by using the shotgun was EPIC using that method


and I'm changing my reticle as soon as I get home, GREAT tip

Beware however if youre in an alley and cops believe you're in a certain area they will get out there cars and walk down the alley, happened to me last night on 2 stars. Was in an alley for a good minute and thought id got away with it, then policeman walks round the corner slowly starts firing  Also waiting in an alley when youre surrounded by cops is fcking TENSE lol!

Hold X when climbing down a ladder to slide down it fast

the times I've hid in an alley, they never got out of their cars, they just kept driving by


it was also at night



good tip though, I'll be on the lookout for that

I didnt think about changing my reticle, thats great.

Pro tip: Dont hide on a roof when cops are near, they will climb up and will find you.

We need to share ideas on how to make big money fast. Now that I'm able to buy properties, I can see that it's going to take a TON of money to buy everything. Several of the properties are WELL over $1 million!

Useful info, thanks - I didn't realise you could change the reticle (doh!).

Will change it later - the little white dot is way too small for my old man eyesight  .

Even if you did it every 5 mins, you'd need to do it 12,500 times to buy the golf course LOL! I read about a more effective way to use that $12,000 pick up is to change characters as soon as you pick up the package, and then when you change back to the original character the $12,000 package will respawn. It would take FOREVER to make any real money doing that and it would be boring as hell!

Sorry for double posting, but this was too good not to share (don't worry, no spoilers LOL). When you're around Lester or doing missions for him, pay very close attention when he talks about companies. I was just doing a mission for Lester, and before I went on the mission I put all the money I could into the opponent of the company we were targeting. BOOM instant 24% return on my money and the stock is STILL going up!!!!

Just checked the stock a few minutes ago, and I've already almost doubled my money! If I would have been smart, I would have switched between characters so that the all dumped all their money in the stock! I'll definitely be smarter next time.

If you want the gas tank weapon, head to any gas station and you will find one laying around.

The bulldozer is amazingly fun. You can carry people with it and flip cars upside down with ease. Just lower the left analog stick and raise it once you have something to mess with.


Anyone knows where I can find a BMX? Played for 9 hours and did not see one at all.

RE Stocks:

I read elsewhere that if you buy stocks Lester suggests, save the game, turn of your PS and change the date by a year. Your stock will increase by a whole years worth of value!

Not tried it yet, but will do once Lester gives me the heads up i'll give it a bash.

Only works on PS, so I imagine it will get patched when the online update comes. So grab it whilst you can

If you take your dog out, target a person he will attack and kill. The cops dont seem to be bothered by it either

Trevor is officially my favorite character EVER in a video game!!!

took me a while to get used to the controls for N4S, handling can be tricky




As far as GTA V and it's place in history, time will tell, but I'm having an incredible amount of fun with it, more than any game in recent memory.

I'd pick it up just to say I experienced the game (albeit only 30 minutes or so before I am bored) but only having the 4gb hard drive and my 16 gb flash drive maxed out... I'm not going to buy another flash drive for it to be eaten up by 1 game.
